| Sina Mosayeb | Sina MosayebSina McCants
Mossayeb was homegrown in Los Angeles, and finds his roots in the Los Angeles
Baha'i Youth Workshop where he developed a deep love for Babi-Baha'i History
and Sufi literature from his teacher (Oscar DeGruy). Following his passion
he received his bachelors in history from UCLA where he focused on Middle Eastern
history, Islam, and the Babi movement; he went on to obtain a masters degree
in Near Eastern Studies, completing research on the life and works of the fame
Babi theologian, activist, and poet Tahirih (and will be publishing a book
about the subject in the near future). Sina switched gears from history to
education, and is now engage in a doctoral program in Comparative and International
Education at Columbia University, on counter-educational-movements that emerge
under the pressure of oppressive regimes. Sina has worked closely with youth
in the United States and abroad, co-founding various programs such as One World,
New Horizon, and Mandala Training Program among others. Currently, he is in
the process of establishing a Baha'i inspired non-profit organization entitled
inPower--a youth program centered out of Harlem; he is also a consultant for
Columbia University's Center for International Education Policy and Research.
He lives in New York with his beloved wife Martha.
